Needed Weber part

I have a 71 911t and need ONE more weber carb part. This may be difficult to explain but I will try.

Where the 2 fuel lines enter into the carb there are 2 16mm copper/brass bolts that are located on the top of the carb, one near each fuel inlet. I need one of these bolts. Can any of you help?? Or know where I can find this part, minus the pmo.

Thanks
Mitch

If you don't want to order from PMO (I'm not sure why, but OK) then try Pierce Manifolds. They are another major Weber parts source.

I have not done biz with them personally but have not heard any bad reports...YMMV

Couldnt get the link to work... going to repost in the Classified section.. Thanks.

Those are just covers for the float level valves. They should be relatively easy to find. Try Pierce as suggested above. Do a Google search for them if the link doesn't work (link works fine for me). They are easy to find on the web.

If you have this part please let me know how much you would like for it. Mine was stripped before I got the car and Leaks fuel through it all the time :/

You could get a 1/4" brass pipe plug, and tap the stripped hole for it..since you mention the drain hole is already stripped, all you have to do is take a trip to a good local hadware store, and buy a plug and tap..

GotaT 08-08-2005 03:51 PM

Good idea.. the only thing that is stripped is the brass plug and not the carb. However.. I may be able to get that plug and re tap the threads on it to match the weber carb. hmm.. I think im going to the hardware store.

There is a later 17mm version that you should get as oppossed to the 14mm version which does strip more easily.

Missing Weber part 61002.005

I wondered after this thread if anyone else was aware of where this part (Weber part 61002.005) could be sourced because I have exactly same problem in that the previous owner seems to have rounded off the brass plug or indeed as the originator of this thread managed to do find anyone with a spare.....
many thanks
Luke

Luke,
Try grinding it down to a smaller hex size or square it off. It won't be visible if you install any kind of air cleaner assembly.

Mike...

Luke just call/fax PMO. It's a cheap part and frankly anyone who has webers would benefit from being familiar with Richard (PMO) and a few others (such as Pierce).
