help needed bilstein sport struts

Where does the little rubber washer go?
on top of the strut cover?

I just installed these - do you mean the ring that was with the new shocks - I decided it was a packing part and chucked it

Cant say I was right but thats what I did - no problems so far

yes that is the one, about the size of a nickel.
I don't think it is critical but do believe it is not a packing part.
Anyone else?

do you mean the front?

is it not there to stop the top of the strut getting marked on the top nut during transportation??
