83 cab stupid mount question

Hello Again, I Have A 1983 Cabriolet 911sc, Are Ther Seperate Engine And Transmisson Mounts For This And Are They Unique To The Cabriolet. I See Them Available Under Both Transmission And Engine Using The Same Part #'s. I Would Assume I Need 4 To Replace All The Mounts If They Are Seperate, I See The Mounts On The Crossmember I Think These Are The Engine Mounts? Look Easy To Change But Not Sure Hoe, And If The Tranny Mounts Are Seperate From These, At Least I Think So, Where Would They Be And Are They Also Easy? Or More Difficult?? Ant Site Or Therads On How To Do Them? Also Do You Reccomend Solid, Semi Solid Or Oem. I'm Getting Some Vibration And Tranny Seem To Be Pulling Up In 3rd Under Hard Acceleration, And A Little Clutch Chatter. Thanks For Everyones Patience And Help.

Nice grammar, Chief.

Just kidding.

Actually, the mounts are the same for the trans and the engine(4 total). Us coupe guys use the cabariolet versions as they seem to be a bit stiffer. I would not recommend solid mounts for a totally street driven car as the vibration and harshness would be extreme. I would just use the stock versions. New ones will make a huge difference.

Hope this helps.

Robert, the four specific mounts are the same. What's different is the way the engine mounting is executed on a cabriolet, with a rubber donut on the motor mount bar and the shock absorber system.

Just doggin' ya, Robert.

Here's a good thread to read with pics. How do you know when your engine mounts is bad?

Also, I would recommend picking up our host's book "101 Projects for your Porsche 911" or, at the very least, a Haynes manual for your car. They are cheap enough and can usually be found at Border's or Barnes and Nobles. A Bentley manual is an awesome tool as well.

If you plan to DIY work on the SC, these are almost a mandatory read.

You don't list a location. Pelicans are allover the world and there be one close that could assist, if you needed it.
