Rarest Fuchs Ever Made???

I came across this ad on ebay for a set of 7x15 fuchs that seller claims to be rarest fuchs ever made. What is so special about these? They aren't 7R fuchs are they?

I updated the link, it now works.

So what makes these any different from normal 7x15's?

Porsche Crest

Just 'silver' 7 x 15s using the 3-prong center caps ...

That idiot probably doesn't have a clue about 911R 7's!

Just another eBay as full of lies and misrepresentations! You can say ANYTHING in an eBay without worry about sanctions! Sellers, and almighty volume sellers control the helm at eBay! Buyers get little air time ...

He probably won't get many bids, an once the buyer sees the actual product ... complaints and disputes will errupt ... to no end!

These aren't very rare for sure. I bought a pair of cheap used 7x15s about 10 years ago and got one of these "early" 7x15s. Actually pissed me off as I had to buy a new center cap...

"What are the sizes on the '67 911S fuch?'

4 1/2 x 15! for '67 only.

EDIT for added content.

The '68 only 5 1/2 x 15 can't be far behind for a regular production wheel.

I think the 911R wheel is the rarest not only because of the small run of cars but there weren't many spare parts built.

While '73 RSR 9" & 11" were very limited, there were lots of spares available from Porsche at reasionable prices.

In '74 the race 911s got centerlock magnisum wheels. Very few street cars were built or converted due to the staggering cost of the titanium and magnisium parts. Plus you needed a 70 mm lug wrench.

The '73 7x15 Fuchs we would regularly import by the pallate load. When the US$/DM was favorable the burdened cost was under US$50. The number of those wheels (both types of hub caps) must number in the 5-figures if not more.

There was a spare part 8x15 Fuch. The only ones I remember getting weren't polished & painted - just brush finish.

Best,
Grady

There is also a 911R 6x15, which looks like the regular deep sixes (used in production 1969-1971) but has a different part number.

There may be even fewer of these around than the 7x15 911r wheels!
