I don't know how some of you guys have your 911 as your everyday drivers without a mod for a cup holder.. It's the only thing I don't love about my car.. Any suggestions?? pics please!

Not sure if this applies to you, but I recently installed a rear child seat in the '87 - it comes with a cup holder mounted to the side.

Works perfect for holding daddy's coffee.

"Passenger" , a water bottle between the seats, or a thermal cooler lunch bag with a plastic soda bottle in it.....works for me.

With no A/C, a bumpy ride, no power steering, a finicky 915 trans and all the fun to have on the road in front of me..... I'll wait for the nice drinks once the drive is over! :-)

Clearly you gentlemen don't understand the conflicting addictions of both speed and caffeine!! We are talking about someone who flys to Germany with a coffee mug so I can have some Java with me on the Autobahn!! Granted the cup holder in an A4 is referred to as a coffee spiller on another bulletin board!! Is there not a good aftermarket unit that would plug into the air vent or somewhere else?? I do use the side slot on the door for soda, but coffee is a problem..

Someone makes one that has a plug that fits into the cig lighter socket - it's rubber so it doesn't shock. Stick the rubber end into the socket and tighten it so it expands for a tight fit. Friend had one and it worked great. Seen it a couple places... Pelican catalog?

Try this:

I have one on the drivers door of my targa. Admittedly caused two screw attach holes, but it is a working cupholder of great merit. $30

Yes, Pelican sells it and I have one. It is pricey but works well enough. The only problem is that a passenger will bump into it when getting in the car.

First, get yourself one of these tapered insulated sipper cups...I think it's 16 ounces or so.

Then shove it into the stock "cup holder" like this...

Just don't overfill the cup so you don't spill coffee on your carpet. Works for me...never tipped over.

Full roll of duck tape on the passenger floor works great. Easily removable and usefull for repairs. The door pockets also work well as mentioned by Steve.

Awesome description of the 911 experience. I use the door (as do my passengers), but I have found that it is awkward enough to get to that spills aren't as uncommon as I'd like (try deciphering that double negative!).

Chrome Cup Holder & Stainless Steel Coffee Cup

Mounts to 1.25" dia tube at any angle.
CNC Machined, billet aluminum cup holder kit, chrome plated.
And the best bit is you have to fit a rollcage first

Never understood the logic with this argument.

I don't need a friggin' cup holder so I can DRINK the coffe whilke I drive.

I need a cupholder so I don't spill the damn thing on the 3-block drive from the coffee shop to work, where I will drink it.

But if everyone understood this logic, then they couldn't make those oh-so-cool cliche' statements about the "stereo being the 6 cylinder in the back", and "no cupholders, I'm here to drive".

Rant over.

I have had considerable success using the the warm ball method to hold the coffee mug, with a towel on my lap just in case it spills.
