Cracked 930 trailing arm - can this be fixed?

Several weeks ago my mechanic performed an alignment and in process cracked the "ears" on the trailing arm that mate up to the spring plates where the eccentric bolts are used. I know it happened then because he pointed it out to me while he was doing it.

I had to remove the arms this weekend so that I can get new bearings installed.

Can this crack be fixed. They are pretty much identical on both trailing arms.
I know that these are cast aluminum and pretty porous.

If they can't be fixed, I assume I can reuse them since I have about 1000 track miles on them since the alignment. Its not a structural component of the arm, it will simply effect the alignment flex I would imagine.

Yes,
It would be OK to have it welded back up.
You will need to get back into position before you weld it.
Your wrench needs to loosen the bolts up a little more so the arm moves.
The arm bolts were to tight when they did the alignment and the eccentric bolt broke out the arm instead of moving it.

Don't sweat it Man it will be OK!

In the pic you can see that it is not fully back in position.
Look at the ID at the brake. A little whack with a hammer will fix that.
That eccentric area is a little sensitive and needs to be right.

Brian, I put did some work on the pic to illustrate. Like Don was saying to get it into original shape you will need to tap the first arrow on top with a hammer then move to the second arrow. It may take a few taps but dont hit it too hard. It should be back in the pre-accident/break before welding. The red shown should be gone with both the top and bottom matching up. Shouldnt be too bad to fix. Good luck.

I gotcha now. As a matter of fact, we have already fixed it. It welded up pretty good. Not sure how well it will hold up. I'll post pics later.
