Are there any updates to this thread?

I have an 80 SC with a nicely running CIS 3.0 and SSIs. I just need more HP - bottom line here. I would love to hear from anyone who has increased their 3.0 HP and how it turned out.

The general opinion is to lose as much unnecessary weight as you can - then think about the engine! By "HP" do you mean throttle response , acceleration or dyno figures? You can play with gear ratios too...
But EFI seems to be the best compromise for the average guy wanting a better system. If/when my sweetly running CIS system fails and I can't get parts anymore , I will convert ..

You should indicate what your vehicle is used for to help others answer the question more specifically.

On page 89 of the Up-Fixin der Porsche, volume VII, former PCA tech chairman Bruce Anderson tells us that the addition of Webers and earlier exhaust system is good for about a 30 horsepower increase, sometimes more,

The PO of my SC installed the Webers and SSI's, but I added the factory muffler converted to Leistritz-style twin-center-out muffler, and that gave a BIG power increase, if the seat of my pants is a good judge,

And yes, gas mileage reeks, but that may have something to do with my heavy foot

This is an awesome thread i have to bring back to life.
As you all know I,m in the Bahamas, so we have a pretty constant temp here year round, max 90s, lowest high 60s. I'm thinking ahead a may pull off the CIS system if it starts giving me issues. I am looking at the PMO set up our host offers. Any comments on them from anyone who has installed them on a 3.0 sc motor, mine is euro spec i believe.

thanks

Adam
