Cool New proud father of first 911!!!

Ever since I was 6 years old and saw my neighbor come down our street in this beautiful silver targa, I had to have one. In just a couple of weeks, I will be picking my new '87 Guards Red Targa and I can't wait!!!! Here she is take a good look!!!

FS 1987 Guards Red Carrera Targa

According to the present owner all she needs is A/C. I have heard and learned from this site that all 911's factory air sucks and considering we are moving to Phoenix I thought I should check out whats the best solution for the fix. Granted shes not going to be my daily driver but I do want to enjoy her as much as possible. Any suggestions would help and I look forward to being a regular viewer and user of this site.

Welcome to the Forum.

Beautiful 911!

There is a lively discussion going on here about A/C. Use the Search Function, there is much more. Yes, you can have great A/C, even in 115F Phoenix with some effort.

Again, welcome.

Best,
Grady

Right on Jar!

I'm a new Porsche owner as well. Owned my '74 911 for about 2 months now and I'm loving it. I fell in love when I saw the movie risky business and then when I was going to purchase my first car at 17. I sat in an early 911 and wanted it soooo bad. My dad said no way. I passed that one up.

Anyway, about the A/C, mine was faulty as well. I found that out driving back from San Jose after picking it up and driving back to my home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It gets really hot in that car!!! I fixed the A/C and it blows soooo cold now without doing any major modifications to the system. Here is the link to my post of the A/C upgrades I did.

I did it too...Pro Cooler Mod for my A/C

I will never forget the day I bought my car. I was nervous as hell. But when I got it home in the garage, I was like a kid in a candy store. Looking at it from every angle, sitting in it and feeling this great feeling of, I own a PORSCHE. Totally cool!. Congratulations on your new car.

Welcome to the dark side I've only purchased this year. I hope you enjoy your targa as much as I'm enjoying mine. When I first bought it I was thinking of replacing stereo/speakers as I love music - but for some strange reason I find myself not listening to anything other than the flat six symphony when I drive the 911. Enjoy!
