The MFI Speed Switch and Cold-Start relay get power from the middle fuse ...
The Thermo-Time Switch for MFI cars is rated at 45°C, or about 113°F ... so it is really a 'Not-Really-Hot' Start Solenoid, rather than a 'Cold-Start Solenoid!' |
IT IS ALIVE!!
I just got back from a spin in the p-car, and I think I was almost as excited as on my first test drive! Good old-fashioned Bosch points installed and she started after about 5 seconds of cranking. Still runs like crap when cold (my hand throttle stopped working right before the break-down.....next project), but once she warmed up she sounded like a completely different car! Way smoother than before, and my formerly bouncy tach seems steady as a rock. And my idle is now a rock steady 950-1000 once warmed-up!!! Many thanks to all who have been sooo patient in leading me to the right (easiest :) ) solution. I guess reading too much info on "upgrades" can be a dangerous thing for someone who understands just enough to get himself into trouble! Now to get outside and take my own "Jack" photo! |
