Ring gear reversal

Anyone know if flipping the ring gear in a 915 transmission would give 1 forward and 5 reverse gears and that this would allow turning the engine/transmission 180 degrees (ie mid engined).
Has anyone done this or have any info on it?
Cheers
Tom

I wonder if using the tranmission upside-down would work? Obviously you need to make some mods either way.

125 shifter and 2.7 racerrecon that flipping the ring gear does it but it's a precise job. Any comments?

It's pretty standard procedure for mid-engine applications. It's more time-consuming to check/set backlash, because the diff must be installed before the pinion shaft.
