Euro Carrera 3.0 oil temp read C or F ?
I have a '77' 3.0 Carrera and a simple question to ask, do the stock gauges read in C or F ? They don't indicate which but I suspect if 100C=212F and my reads say 200; I would hear a large bang if it read in C.
Thanks! Last edited by UH1Charlie; 08-23-2005 at 07:17 PM.. |

200C is 392F
The gauges that hide the numbers under the bezel are in C, while US delivery ones that show #s are typically F. Most thermostats open around 180-200F and then settle down to 190F....

My '76 reads in °C, there were several different versions of the "combi" gage, but I would be very surprised if any of the oems read in °F

While were on the subject...Stock oil coolers?
Thanks to all that for the clarifications. My car is in the shop now so I don't have my temperature gage handy. Can anyone enlighten me as to the stock oil cooler set up on an early 76-77 Euro Carrera 3.0?

For ROW 911,
trombone was used till '79 brass tube till '83 radiator till '89 As usual w/ Porsche there are always a few overlaps, they switch when they run out of old parts or when a part is not available for whatever reason, waste not want not.
