Replating Mahle 2.7 Nikasil cylinders

I have read that the Mahle 2.7 Nikasil cylinders were manufactured buy centrifugal spinning of molten aluminum into a cylinder cast die. Does anyone know if the Mahle alusil cylinders are produced using the same manufacturing technique? I can't help noticing that the Nikasil outer cylinder coloring is darker.

I am trying to determine if the Nikasil and alusil Mahle cylinders are equal candidates for Nikasil re-plating.

Thx!

I can't answer your question about manufacturing techniques, but both alusil and nikasil cylinders can both be replated as nikasil. According to EBS, there is no difference in the re-plated product.
