Sanders torsion bars

I've got some Sanders 28mm hollow torsion bars I'm installing in my 73' Targa. I don't see any markings differentiating between left and right sides. I would imagine if they were new it wouldn't matter but these are used. Do you guys think it makes a difference once a bar has been used on one side if it gets reversed and used on the other side?

It would then be twisting in the opposite direction. Should this matter?

Sanders are not marked. When new, it doesn't matter which way they are installed. But once used, I recommend marking them for L/R and always installing the same way.

Since yours aren't marked, there is no way to tell. Just put them in. You've got a 50/50 chance of getting it right, and you probably won't have a problem even if they go in opposite.

Thanks Chuck. I thought that might be the case. Anyway, time to roll the dice.

Same answer was given to me by Steve Weiner @ Rennsport Systems when I got my Sanders from him.

They're only side specific upon installation!
