JonT and another guy(other black targa but, has silver kinesis wheels) have the tinted/blacked out rear window. I'm definitely going to do that.. it's on the list. If you search on targa in the subject line of this forum you will see a few. The ultimate targa thread and the one about pics of them racing has the other targa I cant think of also. Looks really good on the black/dark cars to me because it brings back that slope line to the rear.

i got my coupe rear and rear quarters tinted last friday. the reason i chime in is that while discussing it with the owner of the shop he said it would be like 250. i am all like 250 for 3 windows? he showed me a targa picture and informed me it was one of the most difficult windows to tint. when i informed him that mine was a coupe the priced dropped to 150.
good luck

Where did you go Toby? I want to tint my back window, but not if I have to grab my ankles to get it done!

Thanks guys. I have a silver targa so it will create a great deal of contrast. I seem to be leaning toward a lighter tint rather than near opaque.

Roamer,
No real good pics of my car as its in the body shop being backdated right now, but some tips. My car is silver and looks very good with the tint on the windows. I put a fairly dark tint on the back window and medium on the sides. Cooled the car down a lot and you can still see to drive at night. Have been in some cars that were so dark that it was difficult at nightime. Also find someone who has done a targa rear window or someone who is very good and patient. The rear window is a bear and my guys spent 3 hours doing it right. Has lasted 5 years now and no bubbles. This is one you want done right in the first place! JoeA

The PO added the blue tint on the rear window. I'm not sure if I like it and haven't gotten around to removing it, so maybe I don't dislike it so much.

Thanks guys.
Bill, is your rear window tinted at all? The more partial tints I have seen the more I like them. Bill, what percentage is your side window? |

The rear is whatever oem tint is, the sides were done over in Boston years ago, Haven't a clue as to what the tint % is but I will look through my files, it's in there somewhere.
