Ed: Do you have any pics showing the hats on the rotors? Is the hat a custom unit?

Ed, no worries.
I just take some issue with the hype of "offering the best of both worlds in one package"

JP: Here's a pic. Pro Braking puts together the kits which include adapters for 993 calipers.

Is that a Stanley 16' tape measure ???? it's OK, with all the money you paid for those pads....a 25' er was out of budget.

It's cool.........

Ed:
Who makes the rotor? Does this set up affect the offset; is the rotor center line the same as the 3.2 rotor? Are there any clearance problems between rotor and lower a-arm?
j.p.

Campy has never been that way. I bought some Campy stuff during the mis 80s when I was racing Juniors and cat 4. They came in a simple yellow box with world champ. strips. Competition forced them to have cool packaging.

Many times when you buy quality, top notch idems (non retail) they often come in a simple cardboard box. I worry when i see fancy packaging.

Pm me, what does that Colnago ride like? I almost bought one a couple of years ago.

They're Wilwoods. They are supposed to be fine, but mine won't go on for a couple of weeks. They're also setup to work with 16" Fuchs.

ProBraking(Dinftown) sells a kit, using 993 calipers, Willwood front and Zimmerman rear rotors. It all goes together nicely, you do need the 23mm m/c don't know if it comes w/ the kit or not.

efhughes3 08-29-2005 03:44 AM

The ProBraking kit doesn't come with the MC, but I have a new 23mm sitting on the bench. His kit has verything needed except the hard brake lines.

This kit is also avalible with Wilwood 6 piston calipers with the same pad, and piston suface area as big reds. here is a picture of a 13" rotor set on a 911 with four piston Wilwoods, and a picture of the six piston caliper I also use, just so you can get a idea of what we can do. My kits also go smaller, my 15" wheel kit with the 6 piston caliper is almost ready for shipping, but I know I will only have 10 15" kits avalible for this fall.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1125357484.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1125357564.jpg

And as for the M/C question, I do not supply it, and do not compete with Pelican on any parts. They sell it, so get it from them. Be pelican loyal, I am. All the OEM porsche mounting hardware in my kits is off pelican, I only use outside companys for parts they do not have(but we are working on that right Wayne?).

I'm using that same caliper with a Carrera rotor (289X24mm) and stock mounting ears. Are you using the Forged Superlite with a radial mount? Can you show the mounting?
j.p.

DinFtown 08-29-2005 04:28 PM

Thats a 331mmX32mm rotor bit biger than the carrera rotor. Its the same caliper, you are using, just with adapters. If you look carfully you will see the caliper is rotated a little counter clockwise from 90 Deg. the adaper dose that to alow it all to fit perfect. I have the adapters for 309X32mm rotors also. You must be using a caliper with a smaller rotor size set up correct? not the 32mm rotor calipers?

This is the best picture i have of the mounting sorry....

DIN;
The best rotor for the 993 calipers and 16" wheels would be the Wilwood 160-3871 & 160-3870 and the mounting hats and brackets, right?
