Paints for wheel crests?

Where can I buy enamel paint to match the colors on the wheel crests? They are the ones for C2 Design 90 wheels.

Are there names to then right ones?

Any on-line source of aircraft-modeler Testors enamels--greatmodels.com, for one--will have all the colors you need (red, gold, silver, black, etc.), unless you're so compulsive you need little bottles with Porsche trademarks on them.

Ryce,

Just a bit of advice having done this both right and wrong.

Carefully sand the area to be painted and prime with white paint or the top coat color won't "pop" like it should. I masked carefully and used Kilz spray can primer. I know it's not "automotive" primer, but I wanted white and the adhesion was good. The primer dries really fast so you can top coat quickly. Good luck.

I can't help with the exact colors but a few years ago someone on this board was painting caps for a price, you might be able to find him with a search and find out what colors he used.
Also, Dianne at Al Reed polishing hand paints caps, they polished my caps and then she hand painted the crests for $15 each. They came out very nice. Just another option.

Funny you should ask. i did it the way I told you then used some paint my sister uses on those folksey "tole" (sic?) painting things she does and sells at fairs. It looked great but didn't last, the sun killed the color. Later when I had the PD's done on my 944 I had Dianne Reed to them as Sammy advised. They looked great and never faded.

I used Testors model gloss enamel covered with Rust-o-leum clear enamel.

Since I have more time than money, this is the result of yesterdays effort--I think it turned out not too bad.

I used gloss black, red, and gold.

I'm actually trying to repaint crests that have alot of paint still on them. The gold and black are easy but the red is not just red. It is a dark red with brown in it. I was hoping someone would know the color. I have seen advertisements for "do it yourself crest paints", but I can't locate it now.

I guess I'll just find a large supply of model enamal paint and try to match it by eye.

You may be best off matching by eye. I doubt repaint kits would've used factory materials. If they did your caps have been subject to sun fade, heat, dirt etc. Not to mention paint color will vary from batch to batch.
Good luck
