OEM rubber bushings-lube needed?

I will be changing out my front and rear sway bars on my 83SC with larger OEM sways and rubber bushings. Both parties I am buying the sways from are including all brackets and rubber bushings. If I determine the rubber bushings are good enough to use when you assemble the sway bars is any type of lubricant needed? Not only to make the install easier but maybe make the bushings last longer? I did a search and didn't find an answer.

I just did this with stock rubber bushings. I found several different answers, some said to lubricate and some said to install dry. I ended up using silicone(sp?) spray. It helped with the installaton and I haven't had any problems since (squeaks, etc).

Good choice Kurt.

Silicone spray is the way to go. Makes install easier and has no detrimental effects on the rubber.

Petroleum grease is no good for rubber. It can turn the rubber to sticky goo. Ask me how I know.........

rfuerst911sc,
The assembly instructions for the Weltmeister sway bars recommend to use Moly-Lube - I know nothing about the recommendation for OEM sway bars. I personally like the recommendation of silicone (is this not the same as Dielectric grease / a greater concentration could be applied with the grease than the spray which should last longer).
