911 alternator

Has anyone had trouble getting the fan schroud of of there alternator? I have removed all the bolts that I see but I still wont budge. I tried tapping it with a hammer but I do not want to crack the pot-metal. Thanks for any help. My car is a 1986 911, Thanks

it's an imprecise fit.

Make sure you have removed all the small nuts and washers. Maybe use a thin wedge or putty knife between the black fiberglass alt air vent and fan shroud. I slightly enlarged the holes on the air vent. Work around the circle slowly pushing it apart.

disconnect the battery, check the alt to engine case ground at the case by removing and fine sanding the case, and use dielectric on all connections.
