How many MPG Does your 911 get?

Hey Chaps-

Looks like fuel is going to shot outta control pretty soon, so i thought it this might be of interest for those of us whom aren't doctors, lawyers, and ex-marketing guys....

Maybe this format?

1996/ 993 Coupe/67,000/ 18 MPG

Cheers,

Capt. Crunch

1978/ Euro 911 Targa /157,000/ ~16 MPG running Chevron 91 Octane

B.T.W. I was told by the dealer to always use premium, but how necessary is this? It might be interesting to know what fuel others use as well as their gas mileage.

1968/912/9,000 on rebuilt engine (165000 on chasis)/28mpg

use 92 octane
underpowerd.. not really, while its not 911 power, its beefed up a tad and is faster than a stock 912, its light as hell, and just as much fun around the twisties as a 911 (probably more fun with the better weight distribution). and it gets good gas milage

on my '88 targa I got 15-17 around town during the winter and 17-19 during the summer. The highway mileage was 22-24.

My 930 got about 10mpg before I tore it apart. Hopefully EFI will improve that a little. I pulled the R1100S out today and left the truck at home. I plan to ride it to work for a while.

16+ mpg on the in 5th gear above 3.2k rpm.

Running 2 & 3rd around town would be cheaper if it was towed.

1978sc/222,500(25k on rebuild)/20mpg

Before tune-up and valve adjust I was getting 16-17mpg. Pays to tune-up. I go 23 mi. one way to work. My Jeep gets 13mpg going downhill with the wind at your back. Guess I'll be driving the 911 more often, poor me

1982 / 911 SC Targa / 49,000 mi 23-25mpg Hwy

1970 / 911E / 156.000 mi about 10 mpg !

Car came from sea-level, was running a tad rich at 13%.
Had the mfi adjusted, so I suspect my mpg will improve, while
I continue to pay more every time I fill up.
