				Wevo vs. Rennshift

Has anybody driven both the Rennshift and Wevo 901 kits? Can you offer some opinions on which you prefer?

No direct comparison to both, but I raced a full season w/ a Wevo 901 shifter and coupler and the shifts were very positive, without being "notchy" or difficult to engage. and while in gear the lever wouldnt fall to the side of the gate like a stock setup. I would say it would be great for a street car due to the adjustablity of the lock-out detent and the centering srings...set it up they way you like . Good stuff. Thomas |

It is a nice shifter, but occasianally diffucult to get it in 1st and 2nd all other gears (3,4 & 5th) are very easy amd smooth. |

A shifter of any make is only as good as what it is shifting. By themselves, they are only a lever. |

What I mean by difficult is that it feels tight getting into those gears.

My 901 trans. before I placed the rennshifter was very smooth, no problems whatsoever. I should have hooked up with you at Monterey, to check out your shifter as to how it feels. I believe I saw your car there. You were there correct? |

1st to 2nd is as with other up shifts, that is to say.positive and direct,no issues. On track I only used 1 to 2 in the paddock and rolling out of the hot pits,That being said the shift can be made w/ the palm of your hand...As you push up out of 1 the shifter(lever) self centers and is in line w/ 2 continue to push with no or very minute side movement and voila your in 2. IMO this upgrade is worth every penny as is the shift coulper. I understand that Wevo products seem to be costly on the face, but in use thier engineering and manufactoring prowess shine and Ive never regretted buying one of Haydens products. (of which I have many). No affiliation just a happy racer who beats the snot out of Hayden's product. Thomas |

Kenik - so you don't like the 901? That was one of the best shifting 911s I have owned. The new G50 in my 930 is better - but not by much.

Sorry Bill, that's not what I am saying. I actually REALLY like it. The one complaint I have is vagueness from 1st to 2nd. Everything else is delicious.

.......just watch the last driveway on the left....i think the family name is 'Gates' or something and they tend to not like drop ins when you try to park at their dock unannounced. last time they actually just opened fire and sank the intruder...........

Yeah - it is a bit sloppy, but the shifts are like butter. You can probably get away with any gate shifter.

That is the best analogy I can come up with; it IS like pushing a knife through butter. You have to treat it like a woman: soft touch, with a firm hand.
