Question Help Installing Under dash knee pads

Hi Guys.
On my 72 911T.
I ripped out my under dash dealer installed air conditioning since it never worked since I've had the car (18 years). I bought brand new under dash pads. The holes line up and almost fit. Question is do i have to do some trimming on the new pad because they look awfully ruff on the top edge? If so How do I make this look finished? Also I think I'm gonna have to trim the dash aluminum/leatherette piece off a little on the end. Is this correct or is the pad suppose to overlap the trim? Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't trim the pads at all. You sure you have them going to the correct side. There is left and right pads. ash try in middle. Don't trim your dash pieces. Think about it. The dash pieces are original and at one time had knee pads instead of ac vents. Yes the knee pads on my 69 overlap the dash at the ends. My pads do not look rough at any point. If you only have one pad you have the wrong knee pad for a 72. Hope this helps.

Thanks for reply. The driver side fits fine. The passenger side has alot of mold flashing rubber. Looks ruff on the top edge and the corner seems to have a alot of extra rubber so it won't fit over the right corner trim on the dash without sticking out. I trimmed and sanded the extra flashing off so it think it will go ok. I really think I got a crappy part.

Tony,

I'm in need of knee pads for my 72. If you didn't get them from our host, can you PM your vendor, please.

If these are available for the 72 from PP, our host, someone tell me where to find them.

Thanks
