Porsche Crest Question on value of a Turbo Targa 930S.

I have searched all avenues I have available with no luck. Does anyone know the production numbers or value of a 1989 Turbo Targa with the 930S rear but normal 911 front fenders. I posted a thread about one for sale recently and I would like to know what others think. I am not able to buy it but just curious of its worth.
Thanks,

The running boards look factory as well.

IMO, these options add little if any value. In fact in many buyers eyes it may subtract.

If the car is mint, low mileage and has all the service records and gets a clean bill of health from a PPI, I would say with confidence that the car is worth north of $35G.

I have a binder's worth of 930 cars all types from over a year of research before I bought my Guard Red '89.

Was that truly a factory option?

The brake vents and boxed rockers were both factory options. They were sold and installed separately in the factory, as part of the total 930S package or through dealerships as parts.

Depends on miles and condition dont you think? the 1989 turbo's are special becasue of the G50/50 5 speed. You sure this is a factory car?

Yes, this is a factory car.The seller purchased it from the original owner.
I have seen the side vent and boxed rockers on coupes without the slantnose but not in Targa form. Like I said, someone bought the car, probably for around $30,000. it had only 68,000 miles and was close to perfect. The seller acquired it from her husband in the divorce. She just wanted to get rid of it. I wish I could have talked the wife into letting me buy it.

The Turbo Targas are a rare breed anyway - but from a styling point not everybody's cup of tea.

As trader said - it's unique with the G-50/50 and being a 930S - actually slant nose delete (the slant nose part) but with the boxed rockers and side vents...

Definitely a unique car - not likely to draw up to a stoplight with an identical car pulling up on the side of you...

Hard to say if 30k was a deal or not without knowing the car and its history. the boxed rockers and vents are not my cup of tea nor are the aftermarket wheels. Any 1989 turbo in good condition no matter what the body style can easily be worth more then 30k.

So that's what a Slant Nose Delete looks like. Hmm. On the roadfly site several months back (yeah, not the most knowledgable source for information, but that was before I found out about Pelican), someone posted about the theft of their 84 Turbo Slant Nose Delete. He claimed that his car was the only M499 option car made that year. Supposedly he checked with "the factory" regarding the rarity of his car (1 of 34 "Slant Nose Turbo's"--and his was the only one with the "Delete" option).

Granted that was for 1984. And granted this is complete hearsay. But I'd venture to guess that there can't be too many 1989 Slant Nose Delete Turbo Targa's around. My copy of the Red Book claims only 109 US Turbo Targa's were imported in 89. I don't know if the rarity adds significantly to the car's market value, though.

Look in the latest Excellence-Bruce does 930s this month. As I recall, Targa 930s were only in the 300 unit range.

I spoke to the gal tonight. The car was sold to someone in Ohio. I wanted to ask what she got for it but didn't. If anything, this car has given me a serious itch to but a Turbo. I do not like Targas so it will have to be coupe. Thanks for all of the opinions on this car, guys.
