You are hilarious!! I may have seen that video....;-) John, Great thread - though I'm not talling enough not to appreciate it! Doug |
HEY, unless we can get a link to the video, I am going to have to rate this thread a 1 star. ;)
|
Having a one track mind I tried like hell to find that video but no luck,
back on topic, if any body has the desire to produce a couple of 2.5 or 3" extentions I'll take one( for the car of course). |
This thread is useless without a link!

WEVO makes a very nice long lever short throw shifter.
This one in my 911. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1126471410.jpg |

I have searched and come up with nothing...
Well, maybe not nothing, I found this car wash, havent seen one of those around where I live... Hmm, I not sure if you are allowed to post links like this, but I bet a moderator will step in. It is tad of topic from the long shifter. |
Hmmmm..... Chaos4000.... :D

Used JW's idea to extend the shifter on my '86 Carrera. The longer handle paired with the Seine Systems gate shift makes for a much better shifting action.
I already had the factory short shift kit installed, so the longer lever doesn't have nearly as much travel as I would have expected with a school bus-like shifter. I really kinda like the "rally shifter" look, and most importantly the way your hand falls not far from the steering wheel to grab the shifter is pretty cool. Thanks JW. You da man! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444838950.jpg |
I've had an extension on my stock shifter for years and love it...drop hand off wheel, bang, right there...no reach.
I have a Rennshift with their 2" longer shifter...I put a hex bolt in place lengthening it 1/2 in. so my wooden 917 knob would be at the same height. Perfect. The only guy that's driven it is the head mechanic at Stuttgart SW...."Man, that set up is perfect...no forward lean"....yup. Agree. |
