rotor continuity no fire after setting valves

Well, I completed my first valve setting session (what a pain, albiet satisfying, still a pain) also Installed NKG BPR5es plugs, turbo valve covers and removed a/c compressor and heater blower along with backdating the plastic air ducts with earlier steel air ducts/snorkels for heat .What a difference in the engine bay, Yes!!However, 50 k man hours later and thirsting, actually drooling for a nice brisk run on the local twisties,I have ... no spark !!!
When I installed the left air duct,it had to be indented to allow my dizzy cap to seat and in the process of fitting and re-fitting this piece I caught the tip of the rotor, bent it up and then tried to put it back into normal position. i think this is my problem.

Now, I do not have continuity between the rotor tip and top conductor, its sunday and I cant get a new cap and rotor or try out my new valve job.

I need a new cap and rotor now, but I am curious why I could not establish continuity in the rotor just by bending it up ,and bending it back down.
This ever happen to anyone??
On the valve job It sure is tough to "feel" .10 mm, since you cant see inthem there deep pockets but I think I may be on the loose side even after going around a second time.
Guess I will know if they chatter like crazy once I fire her up....The learning curve is wearing on my fingers, but still puts a smile on my face .
