Gizmo for keeping Hood up!!!

I was attending the Ventura , Ca show and noticed a man showing a unique clip that held up his engine lid open with no need for shocks . It was easily attached to your existing bracket hardware . He said why break your a## in changing the shocks when you can install these front and rear .
My ?? is did anyone else meet , see or talk to him . I lost his business card . I believe he manufactured them himself , maybe local So Cal ???

I want these they were so cool !!

I did a search for "hood prop", and I found this:

In this thread:

Yo, props to the hood

Is it like the little washer type stop for the pnuematic shock on a storm door? Or is it a shock replacement with a mechanical spring catch inside?

Also, does his gizmo prevent bent-nail syndrome ( let's see who gets that) when one slams the hood down with the clip engaged?

Why not just get the shocks and plan on spending the 10 minutes every two years replacing them. Or get the heavy duty, guaranteed for life...and forget about it.

It's much cheaper than having to get to the body shop to straighten out your hood.
