No, the engine lid is shorter on 1996 (993).

You can use the engine lid from 964 C2/C4 from 1989-1994 with the motorized rear spoiler/wing.

It is fairly common. Several here have done the conversion.
It also isn't all that bling if you compare it to a whale tail.
Plus you can close the wing and it looks like a stock decklid.

But remember: it has to be from a 964 (1990-1994) to work. 993 and 996 decklids (1995-up) are not the same size.
