Can anyone identify this part?
Howdy!
While doing some engine room cleanup, I came across this part, which was unplugged. I plugged it back in, but the way the plug was positioned, it looks like someone unplugged it intentionally. Any clue what this does? Car is an '85 Carrera........ Thanks! ![]()

I'm not certain but I think you are looking at the O2 sensor wiring harness.

Kind of hard to tell from the photo, but does the line from the bottom of the fuel filter go to that ??
Is the "output" side just some type of cap ?? Looks like it might just be a plastic mount to hold the fuel line from the filter to the fuel distributer in place ... Maybe some sort of fuel line surge "damper" to maintain constant fuel pressure ?? I can't quite read your comments in the pic.. I dunno..

That's your O2 sensor connection for sure (both parts). Not sure why it was disconnected on a Carerra. That would be something you only do for an SC as Motronic is NOT affected by unplugging it (I think).
You have a really clean engine bay!
