Hey folks. It's been a REALLY long time since I've posted... Thank you for all the advice, by the way.
I'll start by saying I LOVE the looks of my stock steering wheel in my '86 911 coupe (the four spoke one). If possible, I'd like to purchase another and have it "cut down", make it a smaller diameter. During autocrosses my hands are constantly smashing in to my legs, therefore I'd like to make the stock wheel smaller. Is this possible? What kind of costs am I looking at? Has anyone done this and do you have pics? Thank you for the advice. Al

Never heard of a smaller stock one but I put a momo on my car and I would never go back to the stock one.
You could always save the stock one in case you sell it.

The steering wheel takes a lot of stress from different directions. I wouldn't think that cutting one up is a great idea. Just find a Momo or 930S that you like and keep the stock wheel.

This is not a joke?
Forgoing the fact that I don't understand why it would occur to anyone to do this I can't think of how one could do it, well actually I can but just because you can do something does not mean you should or that it's a good idea. If you love the stock wheel get another smaller wheel and just swap it out for DE days. After all a track day is not just about looking good.

Thank you for the advice folks. I never thought that this could be an extremely dangerous and difficult idea. I think I'll go with an aftermarket wheel, as suggested.
Thank you again! Al
