Mulholland Canyon Run -- Sept 18 -- 8:00 am!
![]() It's been a while since I found myself squinting into the early-morning sunlight, clutching a cup of Gelson's coffee, smelling oil, leather and rich-running carbs as 20 or so of us head out on a run through the canyons above Malibu. The German Autofest is the weekend of the 10th and the 11th. But the weekend of the 17th and 18th looks wide open. Anyone up for a little cruise through the mountains? And if so, is Saturday morning or Sunday morning better for you?

I think I will be in Marina Del Rey that weekend so maybe I could meet up and catch a ride. Last September I was there, this was planned, and it rained for the first time in 6 months.

You're right, we haven't done one in a while. Count me in for Sunday morning. Will we be using the usual route?

I'd love to do that run, but I'm sailing to Catalina that weekend.... Any other weekend, and I'd definitely be there!

good idea jack.....i was actually going to head to the historic races on sunday the 18th with das908kind as they are having a porsche 2.0l challenge that day. he is coming back into town for that weekend. but we could also do a run in the morning and also have golf planned for malibu on saturday so, either day I'm in. it's been too long!

If you want to see a way better race go to VARA's (www.vararacing.com) Octoberfest at Buttonwillow on Sept 24-25. There will be regular run groups plus a German car challenge race. They will have BETTER, FASTER and MORE Porsche's than that HSR race at CA Speedway. I guarantee you the racing will be waaaaay better too! Come out and play with us in the canyons, it's been a while! |

p.s. what ever happened with your SC after that last run where we had like 4 breakdowns?? that was an epic run, smoke billowing from your SC, wayne's fuel pump dies, someones car wouldn't start earlier, someone's yellow RS bottomed out off the road in a corner, and I got sideways around a muddy corner with blad tires! ![]()

Have it marked on the calender and hope to be there. Will probably have one of the rug rats with me.
Really need to get this engine and trans back in, I am so itching for some drive time.

I fixed the SC, it ended up being the sending unit. I kept it for a while and then ended up getting a 1965 Alfa Romeo GTA. It's an old factory race car with tons of history in Europe and So Cal. In a few months, I will once again be in the market for a 911. I think this time I'll try out a 993 unless I find an SC or Carrera that's as clean as my old 911. I wish I didn't have to sell it but after buying the Alfa, money and room were an issue. |

John, you can ride shotgun with me. You provide the shotgun though. I recommend a 12-gauge with slugs. You'll need the knock-down power.
