special 915 set up tools
I am looking to find who sells the special setup tools for setting the pinion depth on a 911
Does this also set the ring position for the shims on both sides of the ring ? What does it go for. Thanks Ed |

If our host can't get them, Continental Imports has some for sale. I don't know if they are new or used.
http://www.continentalimports.com/porsche_part.html As you can see, the tools are pretty expensive. If you are setting up a used pinion you will want to set it to the depth it was running at before (not necessarily the depth spec'd on the end of the pinion gear). ![]() Here's some links: How to set up a 915 R&P? Gary Fairbanks used to have this tool of his own design for sale. He had one made up for himself, then some additional ones to sell and try and recoup some the non-recurring engineering and design costs. He advertises in the classifieds in Panorama. I bought on of these several years back. The whole set came to around $700 or so. Of course they could all be long gone by now.
