Lightbulb rear blower motor

hey guys just installed a new rear blower motor onto my 77' 911S, how exactly do you get it to come on and blow heat into the passanger compartment? THe one lever on the dash just turns the fresh air blower on, should it also control the rear heater blower, I have both heater boxes closed via the levers but no heat is blowing in. Going to check the relay now but what exactly controls this unit from inside the car?
\thanks in advance,
Chris

Not sure if this helps or not, but this thread really helped me figure out the whole ventilation system: Inane heater controls

thanks for the thread, it did clear it up to what I need to check. The rear blower does not come on once the two red tipped levers are pulled for the heating system.
thanks again,
Chris

There is a switch on the levers which completes a circuit causing the engine blower to come on when the levers are pulled up. Check to make sure the switch is in place, not broken, and connected. If you look carefully you will see two thin metal tangs in the switch which contact a metal backing plate. Sometimes the tangs get bent or broken, or get debris around them causing the cricuit to not complete.

Had the same problem and found it was the contacts at the lever controls. There's also a relay in the engine compartment to try. Its the same as the black round ones in the front for fog lights, etc so you can test it there.
