Friends of Pelican

Folks:

Been lurking the boards since the spring. I've been able to figure our this is a tight community and a serious board. Not a lot if any flaming goes on. Not a lot of "soap-boxers" either. The whole atmosphere of the group is very warm, fuzzy and welcoming. That is aside from the WEALTH of combined knowledge one can gather by just reading the post however insignificant they may appear to be. Congratulations to all.

That being said, I have a BMW race car and am a member of the BMWCCA. Some of the guys here may be familiar with a publication they put out every couple of years or so called "Friends of BMW" It is a pocket sized book of all kinds of folks around the world that have lent themselves to other club members. It goes from just coffee and conversation to all out professional help. Including, room to crash, garage space, parts, tools, etc.

Seeing how great this group is, I wonder if anybody has given some thought to something similar. I know I would sign up if it was compiled.

Just a thought...

Cheers,
Ricky

PS: If anybody needs help with anything and are in the Eastern Montgomery County in PA, do not hesitate to contact me. I have a fair size garage with plenty tools and supplies and am pretty handy with stuff. More versed in BMW's now but when I started working on cars it was P-cars.

Nice coupe Ricky, if I hadn't bought my 911, it would have been an M coupe - still the best deal for a two seater out there.

You obviously haven't been to the "Off Topic" board yet. if you think we (some) don't flame.

Then whatever you do, for the love of dog and all that is holey... DON'T CLICK HERE!

There is something like that in the VW community. NEATO publishes(d?) a booklet every year, and there's the AIRS site

Oh, and I like the M-Coupe - I'd love to get one of those some day, but I'll suffer with my '95 M3 for now...

Yo Ricky! Welcome, dude. My office is in Lansdale, my home in Pennsburg-you ever want some seat time in a 914-6, look me up.

Nice M coupe.

Thanks guys. Its not an M coupe. Its a straight up Z3 Coupe w/2.8 I6. The M coupe would have put us in a higher class when we were running Grand Am Cup. Had 3 of them. Kept this one cause it was the first one we built. The other two are still running in GAC with a ble white livery.
