Welcome to the Forum.
Yes, a 3.0SC runs too hot in an SC with the minimal front cooler. The electric fan cooled cooler from a ’89 Carrera works best. There are some good aftermarket systems also. Do some searching on the Forum. Here are some links to get you started. Engine Temps and Summer DEs hot?! double insult.. Checklist for reducing heat in hot-running engine. Fan drive ratio is another very productive cooling method in addition to a front oil cooler. Engine Fan Drive Ratio Air cooled 911s in general are limited by the cooling. Even the small displacement engines benefit in longevity from proper additional cooling. Best, Grady
