the answer to the scs bucking and missing issues
Here is the theory and the resolution.
My car has had almost every thing replaced or rebuilt but contiunued to to miss etc. What was happening was mid range would miss etc all the time. What I had figured out was that the engine was getting to much advance to quickly. once I figured that out I disconnected the vacum advance and the problem went away. So what was happening is the vacum advance was working properly but with the very steep ramp up of advance mechanically the engine could not handle it and it would stumble when the vacum unit was hooked up. SO what this means is that the springs on the mechnical advance are worn out (to stretched) causing it to be to free. SO I challange all sc owners to try this . I will bet this solves all the problems of missing and we will be over running the recurvers

Nice theory. Now I just need to know where to get the springs and have you do a write up on your replacement procedure!

Wouldn't your advance at 6,000 rpm to too high if the springs are worn? ie, it should show up when you set your timing.

I have answer for you all on this. I finally have figured it out. The springs have streched and with a dizzy machine we noticed as much as 5 degrees to much advance mechanically at any given range. So we are currently correcting this and will be offering this service in the near future
