H4 trim rings chrome or body color?

I have been debating this around in my head for a while. I like to know what you guys think. I'd like to upgrade to H4 headlights. As you know they come chrome trim or prime to paint.
I have all black trim on my 74 Carrerra (clone) I have seen a few
like mine running the chrome trim. It doesn't look bad and they have told me that's the way it would be in Europe. What are your thoughts? Attach pics if you have any.

I did mine chrome, but that's because of the door handles, targa bar, window trim and the wheels(polished though). For me, the chrome rings fit with the theme. the old headlights I replaced were also chromed rings.

Since you have all black trim I would go with body colored

The trim rings on the H4s that came on my RoW car originally were black. I've stayed with that as I think it looks cool. :>)

I agree with the body colored rings if you have the black trim. I like the chrome rings on the cars with chrome trim all around. It seems period correct. I have the body colored rings on my SC.

I can't tell you which way to go, but for a reference point I figured I'd give you a picture of a car with black trim and chrome headlights. I'm trying to go all chrome on this bad boy this winter.

Get H4's with chrome bezels. Then you can always ad a trim ring that goes over the top of the chrome that's paintable.

I think the chrome ones cost more. If yours are black why not leave them black. My aunt backed into mine and damaged one of the lights so i know the chrome ones cost alittle bit more. Becasue they sent me a black one I painted the chrome one that was on the car and like them black makes it look more like a turbo. My car is white

I think a Carrera would look best with body colored bezels. On a 911S like my wife's, chrome is the one.

Another vote for body color with black trim. Personally I don't like the black rims with any other color than well, black!

Early cars and mid year cars that still had chrome window trim, door handles, rear view mirrors, etc are (to me) the only cars that should have chrome bezels

What do you think about the black eyed look? Black H4 Bezels on another body-color with black door handles, window trim, etc.

I have a silver car and was thinking black H4 trim to match the rest of the trim on the car.

Black Rings On a silver car?
I have seen an 1988 clubsport with that look as well as mine.
Had one person comment that I needed to paint them but for the most part most part I have no complaints.

To me, the black-eyed look only really works at all with silver, but again its personal preference. Do whatever you like, it's your car. And when your taste changes, do it some other way.

I sorta think black with anyother color than silver looks out of place, like this otherwise nice car I ALMOST bought (and kick myself). Great car, but the "look" was off to me even though it had the black trim. YMMV!

you can get H4 bulb assemblies only that allow you to keep the original look with the inner trim ring and original body color/or chrome rings. Cost about $50 a piece, much less than the complete upgrade kit.
