Question 930 tune-up questions

On my SC I have lots of room because I removed the A/C completely; removed the heater blower, and there is no CAT.

But, this is a 1986 turbo with no room to get at anything.
Any pointers on the valve adjustment? The A/C compressor has to be moved out of the way to rest over the rear fender, what else?
Timing is ? deg BTDC?
What type plugs?

Thank you.

Remove AC, intercooler and intermediate intake. It takes a while but it isn't too hard.

I only use W3DPO in my engine. These are a very cold plug and VERY expensive too I might add, but the best for big boost applications. There are cheaper alternatives though (FR6LDC, W3CS, FR5DTC).

In addition to what beepbeep mentioned, I also remove the air cleaner assembly, the smog hoses and diverter valves(if they're still there) and wastegate. It sounds like alot, but if you just commit yourself to removing these extra items the extra time(15 minutes if all goes well) you spend removing them will pay off in MUCH better access for adjusting.

Thanks to all.
This turbo is not mine; been asked to assist in the valve adjust etc.
I suspected that the intercooler should be removed and plan to remove as much as possible to make room.
Is the valve clearance 0.1mm (0.004")? ?
Are the plugs mentioned Bosch? Copper?
Timing????5deg BTDC??
Are all of you running a CAT? Anyone with a by-pass pipe?
Anyone have SSI's?
Thanks.

Okay, here you go:

Valve clearance is .1mm cold.
Specified plugs are Bosch W3DP, or W3DPO, or W280P21.
Timing is 26 BTDC @ 4000 RPM, with vacuum control detached and 1 ATDC at 900 rpm with vacuum control attached.

Personally, I do not run a cat. I recommend a stock Euro muffler. Not an optimum exhaust layout for performance but pretty much maintenace free.
SSIs are for normally-aspirated cars. If the owner of the car wants a different exhaust, many people make them for turbos. Sooner or later, with most of them, you can usually expect to do a little welding on a crack or a leak.
