Your car looks great. I would probably take the latch out.

Remove the spring but keep the safety lever.

The goal is to not have the hood fly up in your face if you forget to latch the gummis after a fuel stop.

Hey Derek, I saw you were sourcing some front end glass fenders recently, have you started that project yet? How's it coming along?

Brian,
Yes I bought GT racing fiberglass fenders. I have a Lot of work ahead of me. they don't just fit nice and neat like metal fenders. I started on it Yesterday before my Rugby game, so I would have a place to blow off some steam. I will post some pics when I get them installed.

wts. in lbs. from a 1973.5 car:

F. Hood Latch 0.7
Receiver for F. Hood Latch 0.6

So, with the bolts you can save about a lb. and a half - useful for a race car, even in front.

Derek,
Those look like 16X7's on the rear. What size tire are you running?

Brain,
HEre are some pics of the glass fenders about 90% fit, I have a little work to do, but I think it will be ok.

I removed the hood shocks as well for a little more wieght savings.
I am hoping to buy a fiberglass hood in the next few months ...we will see.

Those are 16x7 will 205s , I am thinking I can go with 225s in rear.

Well, I know there is a lot left to do with the fuel door, lights, paint, etc., but I think it's coming along great! I hope us middle Alabama boys get a chance to see it sometime soon!

I know I know, and I have about 3.5 weeks to get it all done. I am going to a DE in ATL the last weekend of OCt.
I was suprised once I started on it , it seem to move along well.

This L.A. boy hopes to make a few DE's up your way next year.

We are playing Birmingham this weekend at home, in Rugby . I am sure we have a game there as well
