Porsche/Brembo GTP Brakes

Has anyone had a rotor warp on these new brake packages, from Brembo?

I run them and have had them on the track maybe a half dozen times so far with no warping. A couple of the events were on a track that is very hard on brakes. I take it you had one or more warp?

Cheers,

Yes, and I can't believe it. I have a 2000 lb 914/6 2.8.
Went to DE day, and by the end of the day the steering wheel and pedal were shaking like crazy. Shop that installed say I need brake cooling. I say these huge rotors on 2000# @ 120mph DE runs shouldn't be getting hot enough to warp.
Any opinion or advise?

It's far more likely to be a pad issue. Most of the newer compounds need to be bedded properly. They need a layer of material on the rotor that matches the pad material. if it's not there the brakes will judder

I considered that, so I bought a different pad Mauf. and bed them in by the book, to the extreme! First high speed stops were fine, then at the next off ramp, in 25 miles the judder came back. We're not talking mild, they feel horrible. First cold stops are fine, then in normal street use, by the 4 th stop its back???

If you warped one, you would feel it all the time, not just when they get hot. I agee, it is probably the pads, what type are you running?

Cheers

I started with the Pagid Hi Performance Street pads that come with the GTP Brembo kit. The I tried to clean up the rotors with Peformance Friction #97. They stop better, but lock up easier, and still judder??????????????

Hmmmm, bill posted a while ago about a bunch of steps to use when cleaning a rotor involving scotch brite and steam etc. Fronts lock up? Had that problem but not anymore with the fabcar dual MC! works like a charm. The pads that come with them are not my favourite, where did you get he PF #97 pads?

Cheers

Another very likely cause of judder isworn struts and or suspension pieces like tie rods.

W/ this type of problem the judder is directly proportional to line pressures not temps.

i agree w/ you that it is not likely that the brakes got very hot. But they do need to get into the temperature regime that the pads are designed for. It is possible that they aren't geting hot enough.

To know for sure why not try some temperature indicating paint
