I believe it came with Cabs. Is this motor from a cab?

DonDavis 09-30-2005 11:43 PM

After re-reading the earlier posts, they now make sense. I was overlooking the cab references.

Honestly, the presence of the dampener had not registered with me till tonight.

Is that specific to a G50 car or a cab? I know there was some kind of harmonic balancer (maybe it was a dampener??) for the G50 cars.

Very neat looking

It is for cabs. The cross mount bar is also different.

Cheers

Very nice Don! Looks like new. Any mods? What kind of HP do you expect?

The cab engine mount and cross bar are different for a cab. I would change them both if you can get a set easily. Another option is to remove the shock component and replace it with a 3/16" bar welded up to add the rigidity. I found the cab mount caused shifting difficulties under heavy load on the track. If you want I can take a picture of the set-up.

Don,

Need to email you. Pls PM me your email.

Thanks,

JoeA

Joe, PM sent.

About the dampener... what the recommended approach? Keep it? Change it to a solid piece of metel?
At this point, I don't have a preference.
