Dickster has one. Others too. There must be something in the archives.

This thread is the only one I can remember: dansk system arrived - yeah baby

Unfortunately it's not what you're after.

No pics, but here is what I did...

Using your floor jack, lift the new muffler into place with the valance attached so the right side pipe is barely touching the valance. You cannot attach it, but you can line up the holes with the heat exchangers. Put a piece of blue painters tape (or other) on the valance where the right side pipe is. Once you have verified the alignment of the muffler you're ready to make the reference marks on the tape. I used a piece of cardboard to make a template of the left side of the valance, flipped it over to the right side and traced the cutout on the tape. Then, you just fire up a jigsaw fitted with the fine tooth metal cutting blade ands go for it. Make sure you support the valance while cutting it, it will bend if you're not careful. Use a bit of primer and touchup paint on the raw edge, not much is needed. When you are done, you should practically have a mirror image of the left side.

Good luck!

Except that the left side has factory-formed edges.

How loud are the twin exit mufflers compared to the single exit ones? What about resonance?

It's my impression that 1 in 2 out mufflers are not so loud. However 2 in 2 out mufflers are usually quite loud and can often suffer from annoying resonance.

They can also provide breathtakingly gorgeous sound. I heard a 993 varioram engine (in a 1972 911) with a custom made 2 in 2 out recently Absolutely wonderful, but also very very loud.

Mine is louder than OE, but not that loud. It sound very mean when you get on it..It is not as loud as many "Ricers".
I took my friend for a ride the other day...he also has an '85, but the sound pad/insulation in his engine comp. is gone. He said my new muffler was no louder than his OE muffler w/o the sound pad/insulation.

Here is a link to my 2 out conversion. After marking the valence, I took it off and simply used tin snips, then filed the raw edge, then rolled the edge in slightly, then touched up the edge with touch up paint. The seperate foward extending valance extension was left as is, although one could add a little piece to it to match the left side piece. You cannot see both side pieces at the same time, so why bother.DIY stock muffler mod, 1 out to 2 out, SC

PS: save the piece you cut off in case you ever want to re-attach it if you decide to go back to a single out.
