Thumbs up 1st post MUST say two things

First of all I would like to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge on this website. I have done a lot of research on here over the last few months and it all paid off on Monday. I have been a Porsche fan since I was about 6 or 7 years old and 2 days ago I accomplished one of my oldest goals: my first Porsche. A 1983 SC non-sunroof coupe. The second thing I would like to say is that if you are reading this and are trying to decide whether or not to buy a 911, go ahead and make the plunge. I have owned vehicles that are much quicker, but I have never had so much fun driving as I have the last couple of days. I wasn't sure if a 911 was practical for me considering I have a six month old girl, but for a spare vehicle it is everything you could ask for. Most importantly, my daughter smiles when we go for a ride. Thanks again.

All of you, stop telling us fence-balancers to jump over and just do it, just buy that 911. It's not nice to mess with other people's bank accounts.

Sigh--someday soon, perhaps, a 911 may drop from the sky into my driveway.

Location, Location Location... Other than pictures and car description the list needs to know your location. Welcome aboard. My 11 year old son laughs out loud when we are riding and the tach tops the 4000 RPM mark. Thats why we buy these cars to entertain the kids

1983 SC 120k miles with all service records. Clutch replaced and Transmission gone through recently. Only mods that I can find are the A/C and the exhaust. Seems to be a pretty tight car. PPI found a few minor things (brakes, hood struts, dimmer switch, washer pump, driver's seat needs recovered) and I have noticed the A/C starting to squeal yesterday (blower motor??). Wheels need some attention, any suggestions would be appreciated (replace, repaint, other options?). I am not real sure that I like the white centers. So far I am not sure that I could be any more satisfied.

Trollberg,
Nice looking car. The PPI list sounds very typical for a car of this age, no big worries, I'd say.

If the squeal is in the front area, it's the blower motor; in back it could be the compressor (Did the wrench put the gauges on the A/C during the PPI?)

If you plan to use the A/C, you should do a search here - there are a lot of little & not-so-little things to do to make the system actually cool the interior of the car.

Good luck, enjoy the experience...

Welcome!
Someone put some really nice wheels on! They look like 7" + 9" X 16" with painted crests. NICE! The rear wheels would cost you about $900
each [or more] to buy.
Good going!

VERY nice! my blower motor squeeels after about 30 min of A/C use...so if its up front, thats probably what it is. If you dont like the wheels, you can always send them off to AL Reed or if you are a DIY you could probaby paint them yourself. Do a few searches and I'm sure you will find more than enough information on refinishing those FUCHS. Welcome to the club!

Welcome. You're off to a great start. It's a rare car.

Personally, I like the matching wheel centers.

That is one beautiful example of a Porsche!! Nice!

The car sits at what I consider to be the perfect ride height and has beautiful rear rims. They look like 9's to me.

Thanks for the pics and welcome to the forum.

If those are 7 and 9 x 16 wheels, I would be happy to trade you my black centered 6 and 7 x 16 wheels.

Welcome to party!
