Bosch MFI Manual
All, Bruce Mackenzie was nice enough to send me a scanned copy of the Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection book that I have been looking for. Anyway, I put the book on my webpage at the following address. I think you all may find it helpful, especially since the book is out of print(I have been told). Check it out at the following address : http://www.geocities.com/william_armentrout/mfi.html Bill ------------------ William Armentrout 1973 911T 2.7 carerra rs specs www.geocities.com/william_armentrout |

That's and excellent move Bill. Bruce was similarly kind to me, but this makes it accessible to all, which is what this BBS IS ALL ABOUT!
Information is power as they say, but for us guys, this sort of info enables us to liberate power (from our beloved sixes). ------------------ '72 911 TE |

That's an excellent link. I haven't seen it all yet but looks very informative.

Nice move on posting the information. I would love to see the service manuals posted (probably too much info) or at least made available on CD ROM disc.... I wonder if the company would consider digitizing the darn things & selling CD's... I'll bet they'd make a lot on reasonably priced CD sales rather than hoping to make an occasion sale of the books at $500 a crack. Just think how great it'd be to print out just what you need at the time to fix the car rather than keep 8 volumes on hand.... CD's sure do great things for our law library!

Good call.
Mind you, I've been looking for this Mfi info for a hell of a while. It's not that difficult to work it all out really. I get annoyed, especially in workshop manuals, when they say that the job is better left to the professionals. Let us be the judge of that....After we have read what's needed to be done. Incidentally, did you see that the issue of setting up the throttle bodies was discussed Bruce? I'll be doing that this weekend for sure. Also, I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only person in the world who figured that the protractor method was German technical overkill. (not that I complain loudly at the results of their creations, just how to fix them). Excellent postings, guys. ------------------ '72 911 TE |

I'm glad to be of some assistance. I just hope I don't get in trouble with any copywrite laws. If so, I guess my website may follow Napster's lead! Bill ------------------ William Armentrout 1973 911T 2.7 carerra rs specs www.geocities.com/william_armentrout |

Bringing this back alive
Anyone have any ideas on where this info might have gone? I think the links are dead after these many years.
Some of the info in the Bosch manual is in addtion to the CMA available here, IIRC. |

Good call, Milt. I'd sure like to see that manual. i almost bought a copy at the old SoCal literature meet in the late 80's but I didn't like the price as i remember...

Now, I may be confused (again). The links above may be to a copy of the the "Blue" book, as Warren (Early_S_Man) calls it because (according to him), the original was blue. If this is the case, we have it all in the CMA here on Pelican. I was of the opinion that there might be something else out there that is truly out of print. Somebody on the parts4sale BBS has an original. Of what, I don't know. Maybe there is a separate manual on the use of the protractors. I've used them, nothing special about them AFA I can see. Adjustments to the "correlation" are pretty limited if you do everything else in the CMA as prescribed. Here's the link. Go down about a third of the page after the 959 stuff.
