Question What do you think of these ?

Ok,

Looking to replace worn out seats in my 79SC have read lot's of post's on here, had narrowed it down to the ones from Summit Racing until I found these,

And before anyone flames me, yes I know that they are probably " ricer " brand, but let me know what you think.

The are fully adjustable, all manual, covered in leather and are sold as a pair and come with sliders.

The price for both the driver and passenger front seat delivered is: $285.00 which is roughly half the price of the Summit brand seats.

As another option I am also thinking about just recovering the ones I have I can do that for around the same money if I do it myself using a " kit " from one of the vendors.

That's extremely cheap. How's the quality? You sometimes get what you pay for...

That is REALL cheap, it might be imitation leather ro just some really cheap materials else where. Remember a seat is part of your "SAFETY" system, so be carefull where you cut on cost.

That IS a good deal. I have been looking to replace my stock SC seats with Sport versions but they are just not in the budget right now for good ones. If you get these, please post your results. How about sliders?
Do you have to make adapters to fit the car?

EDIT1: Who has a budget for these cars, anway?
EDIT2: I thin the seats look cool but the quality may be questionable but we can't ALL afford Sparcos.

They come with sliders , I think I will go ahead and get them, I am using up money right now on other stuff I need for the car, so I may use these for awhile and then maybe get some others down the road.

I found them on Epay , the seller is called trendgear all one word and he has lot's of items on ebay, he actually sells several versions of this seat, some have lettering on them, the ones I am looking at are the plain leather ones.

Not saying these seats aren't great but I've always thought that the way to purchase a seat is to sit in one and see if it's comfortable.

If you end up liking the way these feel you scored a great deal.

They sure look good, any way to try one out?

What ever you do … keep your original seats parked somewhere safe!

Ok Grady will do, I think I might try my hand at recovering them at some point, at some point in the car's life someone smoked and burnt a couple of really big holes in them and the covering is so dry and hard it is cracking in alot of places, but I will keep them.

Aren't they kind of narrow? Most race seats I see advertised are 20" across the bottom measurement.

Hmm you may have something there, I am writing to the seller to confirm he may have posted the measurement of just the center cushion instead of the outside measurements on his pic.

Cool Seat mounting.....

I put a set of the Summit seats in my SC. In order to get enough head clearance, I had to make a set of mounts that hang below the stock mounting brackets. I used pieces of 1/8" thick steel plate with 3 6mm bolts extending down thru the stock mounting surface. This allowed the seats to mount about 1 1/4" lower than otherwise. The Summit seats are fairly comfortable with good lumbar support and side bolsters. The Trendgear seats shown look much like the Summit seats but if real leather are a super deal.

The Summit seats come with sliders, adjustable backs and seat back releases for rear access.

These do look nice, let us see some pics when you get them in the car.

I see a lot of less expensive aftermarket seats with this same tilt mechanism. Also, Some of the others list the center section as vinyl, so I wonder if these are full leather (will message the seller and report back)

Not wanting to turn you off of these seats, but I recently had to find a new pair for my SC. I could not afford Recaro's or Sparco's and FleaBay scares me. Among others I looked at these and eventually got a pair of Yonaka Ronin's.
