Out with the old..........
Here's a good way to spend a Saturday. Current motor is a strong running stock, except for the SSI's and usual upgrades, but I wanted more grunt. New motor is ground up rebuild using 9.5:1 J&E's, E-cams,etc. Shown with carbs right now, but I've gathered most of the stuff I need to go EFI w/individual throttle bodies, etc., so I may delay the install a little while until I complete that train of thought. Then I have to decide how I want to rebuild the old motor. Winter projects have started. Time for a frosty beverage.

Al,
Nice looking engine on the stand. are thise old style magnesium chain case covers??? What are you using for tensioners? I think those are Webers, not PMOs, right? Looks like a fun winter in the garage ahead ![]() ![]()

Great work. Nice way to spend your Saturday morning. Give a shout if you need anything - someone to hold a beer....you know. Rex

SilverC4,
The chain housing covers are late 77 aluminum. I use the later style spring tensioners w/mechanical stops. Simple and effective. Ghnat, Yea. i always wanted two. The one I just dropped I rebuilt about 5 years and 75K miles ago. Still runs strong, but I want more go. As soon as i install the new one i'll build up the old one into something hotter too. Rex, That scene probably looks familiar to you. Hows the rebuilt motor running?? I appreciate the offer of help and same back at you. Keep in touch. I'm going to upgrade the suspension and who knows what else this winter. Al

I'm still working through some ignition issues - I'm getting ready to call in the professionals. I'm going to upgrade the suspension and who knows what else this winter. Sounds like I could learn a thing or two about how to spend all my extra income. ![]()
