Im so confused on this H4 Euro upgrade thing
I've been reading all the posts, but I still cant figure out what I need to actually do for my car.
I have an '86. Im pretty sure its and H4 bulb, b/c right on the lens it says H4. I bought the Euro combo kit with trim ring. Im I right in thinking the this is a plug and play thing? This is the part:

You are correct. However, I would recommend you use relays when you install the lights. Takes the load off the headlight switch and wires. Many of us use the Sucro relay kit which is inexpensive and can be found here: Sucro Relay Kit

You should have everything you need with the kit. There is one screw at the bottom of the assembly for mounting, and the rest are for adjustment.

I was just reading the information above the part where you order it and it says you need another cover to cover up the black trim you see in the pic above. I didn't realize that - is this true. I thought the black trim in the pic was the cover trim?

I would HIGHLY recommend that Sucro relay kit. It's cheap, easy to install, and allows for much brighter headlights than otherwise.
Do a search and you'll find out all the details you need to know about it. |

Just so I know, is it impossibe to repalce stock headlights with H4's and use original headlight trim?

the painted trim rings have a way of not wanting to fit real well, so some extra effort may be necessary. if you use the standard 55/60 watt bulbs, you can skip the relay. it's for the 100 watt high beams that can melt the dimmer switch. depending on the condition of the car's wiring, you may get a tad more voltage to the lights with the relay, because it's a direct 12V source that doesn't go through various switches and connections before delivering the voltage to the lights.

Are the Bosch H4's a direct plug in for the early 911's(70T)? Or do you need to buy adaptors?
