Headlight Stalk Switch?

Sylvester,

Do you notice the smell with your headlights on only? Could be your headlight stalk switch if you don't have relays installed.

When you take your foot off the accelerator, does the car coast as it should, or does it seem to slow down to quickly? Possible brake caliper binding?
Is it electrical smell, or more mechanical in nature?
P.S. Punctuation will help readers understand your questions.

Check you fuel tank for any pin-hole leaks. It might be located around mid seam area. Is the smell of gas greater after you fill the tank ?, if so then the hole may be higher up the tank. This is my experience.

check your alternator amperage.
is your heat on?.... could be oil on the exhaust also
FYI- go buy a halon extinguisher before you accidentally lose the car.

I had a problem like this, which was really bad after I had filed the car with fuel - turned out to be the rubber tubes between the filler and the tank was getting a bit to old. Next time you get the smell flip open the trunk and see if the smell if in there?

sylvester, don't waste time in self diagnosis, find a porsche repair shop asap. even if you dont use them, and decide to do the work yourself, their experienced six senses could idenitfy a simple issue or possbily save your car from an imminent bad end.

My cap gasket defaulted. Many gaskets available even though I said what car it's for to Stoddard.
