88 Carrera door lock prob

I ripped out the lousy aftermarket alarm and now, every once in a while, I can't manually lock the driver's door (inside or out). The passenger side is ok. Drive the car for a bit and then it will lock. Other times it doesn't. BTW...I never use the central locking button on the console.

Is there some solenoid in the door causing this?

Are you saying the round knob inside won't turn and you can't lock it with the key...
Also, you say you never use the central locking button but does it work nonetheless? Not sure if I have an answer, just trying to clarify the situation.
BTW...I sold my '87 Cab to a guy site unseen from Thousand Oaks. Great area, used to travel out there a bit.

Yep....the round lock knob won't turn. If I puch the little central locking button/light, a relay clicks but nothing happens.

What color was your Carrera?

Mine won't let you or the door lock motor turn the knob if the door is open. An adjustment perhaps?

Guards Red. sold it to a Nortel Guy who, as it turned out, had never actually even driven or been in a 911. We had to do a couple of laps around the block and I quickly put together a do's and don'ts list about the car. I was also concerned since he was really tall and BARELY fit in the car but he was grinning ear to ear...as was I the first time I drove it. I regretted selling the car since it was in absolutely MINT condition but I already had purchased the coupe I currently own.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.
