Need Trunk pics
I am looking for pics of people's trunk areas. I am stripping mine out of carpet, undercoating, etc and would like to see some finished pictrues for ideas/inspiration. Thanks.

Nothing much, but I have replaced the front turbo strut to rid of the broom handle.

I added the tower brace and the CD changer when I re-did the stereo system. Other than that it's factory. Bill _________________________ 1985 911 |

Here's mine. I just run defrost, only thing notable is the heater / cowl mixing box delete.

Randy I did not. Don't have a good scale here - not even a bathroom one. Hey - I'm on a budget ;-)
I could bring it somewhere to weigh it. With the blower motor, I'd guess 3 to 5 lbs. Doug

Awesome pics guys! Thanks.
Fishcop - How did you clean all the factory coating from in the trunk area? Mine has an undercating like substance all over it.

DW,
That's a great hood support. Where did you get it? John, Why don't I see your smuggler's box and lid? Sherwood |

Doug - if you feel energetic, drop by the post office or UPS or FedEx and weigh in a plastic bag - tell 'em you need to know the item st. itself w/o box so you can choose the right box. Post here and I'll add it to the database...

That photo was taken pre-bonnet strut arrival. Really happy with the strut too! Right hand drive cars don't have a smuggler's box like LHD cars... can't hide the odyssey

I posted something earlier about ideas on how to keep water out - not that I will see much rain but in terms of washing the car or the occasional shower. Just wanted some details of what you used and is it water proof - do you still use a drain etc.I figured that someone had made a block off plate for race cars but have not found anything. Thanks - -Jeff

Use the air box as your template and then curve the metal to match the mesh screen. You can use a pipe for part of the curve. Then take some thick weather stripping as a seal. I don't use the drain.
Another option is to cut off the front of the airbox, replace the seal and fiberglass over the back of it. Install a drain in the bottom of the box. Those are two options. I'm only testing right now. My block-off plate has been tested on with light water from washing the car. Does Smart Racing make a block off plate? Doug
