911 to 930 conversion- wheel options anywhere but prefer Dallas
Need some advice..i am converting my '77 with SC flares to turbo look.
Need to make a decision regarding wheels. Either buy new set of wheels and tyres...costly. OR take my 7" and 9" and convert to 9" and 11"...qyestion is how expensive is it to to convert a 9" to 11"? And where can i do it??? |

Not sure if converting yours is the best option. Pelican sells wide Fuchs replicas.
Might make sense to sell yours and buy what you want. Then there are always spacers. These guys make wide wheels from Fuchs, you might call them. LINDSEY P2 at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center

If you are talking about 7" & 9" Fuchs, don't convert them into anything other than selling them to convert them into money. If you want Fuchs, look into the Braid Fuchs in a size that will fill your fenders.
If you are keeping the 911 rear trailing arms, you will need a lower offset wheel than a 930, so keep that in mind when buying new. Otherwise, you can just use spacers to make the 7's and 9's work. |

930's never had 9's and 11's, but IMHO they should have - these, in 17" diameter, really fill out the 930 flares. I run 255/40 and 315/35's with no rubbing whatsoever.
As Will says, if you don't convert your trailing arms, you will need different offsets than stock, but (also IMHO) these look better (deeper dish) than the stock 930 offset. Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 423k miles |
