H4 Adjustment Problem
Now that I have a working headlight switch, I decided I should adjust the beams properly. As I was turning the up/down screw to raise the level of the beam, the internal assembly just flopped forward and I was unable to adjust further.
I removed the headlight from the bucket, it was immediately apparent what the problem is: The rubber grommet that the adjusting arm "plugs" into was shreaded and not holding the adjusting arm in place any longer. Does anyone have a source for these replacement grommets or found a satisfactory substitiute? I'm dead in the water for night time driving until I fix this. Thanks, |
Mark,
I don't remember the exact size, but, a high-quality fuel hose will work if you cut it to the correct length. It should be snug in the 'sheet metal' before pushing in the adjuster link. |
Thanks Warren,
I'll give that a go. |
or...post (PM) your mailing address and I will send you two of them as I have an old H4 I use for parts.
