H4 Adjustment Problem

Now that I have a working headlight switch, I decided I should adjust the beams properly. As I was turning the up/down screw to raise the level of the beam, the internal assembly just flopped forward and I was unable to adjust further.

I removed the headlight from the bucket, it was immediately apparent what the problem is: The rubber grommet that the adjusting arm "plugs" into was shreaded and not holding the adjusting arm in place any longer.

Does anyone have a source for these replacement grommets or found a satisfactory substitiute? I'm dead in the water for night time driving until I fix this.

Thanks,

Mark,

I don't remember the exact size, but, a high-quality fuel hose will work if you cut it to the correct length. It should be snug in the 'sheet metal' before pushing in the adjuster link.

Thanks Warren,

I'll give that a go.
